Julian Scott Urena is a Latin American actor. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and immigrated with his family to New York City while in grade school.

Julian studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York and at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in California. He has worked in a variety of media including feature films, appearing in "Mixed Blood"(debut) with Marilia Pera, "Spike of Bensonhurst" with Sasha Mitchell, the James Ivory directed "Slaves of New York" with Bernadette Peters, "The Bronx War", "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas, "Return of the Living Dead III" with Melinda Clarke, Sal Lopez, "The Puppet Masters" with Donald Sutherland, "The Pest" with John Leguizamo, "Get Smart" with Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, and playing the lead in the highly anticipated "American Flyer" (aka North By El Norte)[1] opposite Douglas Spain and Danny Trejo.

He has appeared on the small screen in episodes of "Jake and the Fatman", "The Shield" opposite Michael Chiklis and others. He can also be seen in the award winning short films making the festival circuit, Mike J. Cahill's directed "In the Company of Sinners" now playing at the Monaco Charity Film Festival [2], John Vargas [3] directed "Glass Tops", April Rouveyrol's directed "Shy" and "Something About Jack" directed by Rylend Grant the writer of the upcoming Penelope Cruz star vehicle "Haunted Heart" under the direction of the award winning director Fernando Trueba. Julian has also recently completed two audio books for writer/director Paul Kyriazi, "McKnight's Memory" opposite Robert Culp and Frank Sinatra Jr. and "Rock Star Rising" (aka "Hard Rock Lovers") opposite Russ Tamblyn.

He has appeared on stage in both New York and Los Angeles in various productions, including Zeth Zvi Rosenfeld's [4] "The Writing on the Wall", "Side Show", "Homeboy", "The King of Dominos", "He Who Gets Slapped", "The Watermelon Factory", "Hips", "The Have Little" opposite America Ferrara and most recently starred in Beverly Lloyd's "Shallow Breathing" to rave reviews.

Julian is married, has two sons and makes his home in Los Angeles, California.
